If you have any questions or concerns about your assessment please contact, Wild Rose Assessment Services Inc. at 403-343-3357 and speak to: David Clark, A.M.A.A. prior to considering filing a complaint.

If after you have discussed your concerns with the assessment department and still believe your property assessment or any other property is unfair, you may file a written complaint to the Clerk of the Assessment Review Board, Pursuant to Section 460 of the M.G.A. and Matters Relating to Assessment Complaints Regulation, AB. Reg. 310/2009.

What are the steps to file an assessment complaint to the Assessment Review Board?

  1. Each complaint must be submitted on a Government of Alberta Assessment Review Board Complaint Form available at: http://www.municipalaffairs.gov.ab.ca/documents/as/LGS1402.pdf or at the Village of Hussar Office.
    1. If Applicable: Assessment Complaints Agent Authorization Form URL http://www.municipalaffairs.gov.ab.ca/documents/as/Agent_Authorization_Final_LGS1405.pdf
  2. The form(s) must be filled out completely; including the reasons for a complaint (Taxes cannot be appealed).
  3. The applicable complaint fee(s) as listed on Village of Hussar combined Property Assessment & Tax Notice must accompany the complaint form.
  4. The date by which a complaint must be made, which date must be within 60 days after the assessment notice or amended assessment notice is sent to the assessed person. See “Final Date For Complaint: as stated on Assessment Notice.  Tax Assessments and Notices were mailed out May 1, 2025 (MGA s. 310(3)). Notice of Assessment Date is May 9, 2025 (MGA s. 308(1)). Complaints Date (MGA s. 284(4)) is July 8, 2025.
  5. Assessment Complaints Must Be Forwarded To: Village of Hussar

Box 100, 109 – 1 Avenue East, Hussar, AB. T0J 1S0

Complaints received that are not completed as set out above will be deemed invalid.
